Dry Docked
By Johannah Simon

Casey Kasem: You didn’t deliver on your promise. I was supposed to be somebody’s baby. Fantasies of an AM Gold soundtrack relationship with my yacht rock lover, smooth nights drinking Riunite on ice in goblets, luxuriating on bear skin rugs wearing matching satin robes. Everything I knew about love, I learned from hours of binging soft rock radio. When I was finally ready for that first pleasure cruise; it was disappointing. I wasn’t prepared for the awkwardness of it all. After that maiden voyage, I remember thinking—did I just become a woman? Feeling the same as before, only stickier.
