Irrevocable
By S L Jones

“Cupid! You’re an idiot,” Aphrodite admonished.
“I said graze, not clip. Do you know what happens when you give a vessel a puncture wound? Containment fails immediately.
Love doesn’t stay inside. It runs.
Quick, bright, terminal.
Irrevocable.
That woman bled devotion all over the café floor. Anyone who touched her took some. By the time she fell, there was nothing left.
Don’t interrupt!
Yes, I saw her die in his arms. Yes, they loved each other perfectly. For thirty seconds.
No, that does not make it a success.
File your report. Clean your quiver.
And don’t let it happen again.”
