Maintenance Mode Activated
By Atlas Topone

January 1st: I unplug destiny.
No upgrades, no personal growth patches. Just running the old system on low power. Friends reboot their lives—new diets, new hobbies—while I lounge like an obsolete app, humming comfortably in the background.
By spring, they’re buffering, crashing, reinstalling themselves again. I’m still here, slightly dusty, completely stable.
Peace isn’t progress, it’s version control.
By year’s end, the world will demand another update. I’ll decline politely, click “Remind Me Never,” and keep doing absolutely nothing new—because maintenance, I’ve discovered, is the truest form of rebellion.
